Sunday 14 September 2008 starting at 10:00am
RACE DETAILS
The PARAS 10 is a unique ten mile endurance run that follows the same undulating multi terrain course at Catterick Garrison used in the Parachute Regiment’s P-Company Selection ten mile route march.
It will require dedicated training before the event and all runners must be over 17 years on race day to take part. Because of the nature of the challenge the course is not suitable for wheelchairs and bikes and dogs are not allowed on the course.

There is a cut off time of 3 hours to complete the course. Finishers will be awarded a Medal and a Paras 10 T-shirt.
PRIZES
Prizes will be presented on the day. Please listen for announcements.
Kit Storage
Your kit can be left at your own risk in a supervised area close to the Start/Finish. It will help if you arrive ready to run.
The Paras 10 Team Challenge
The team challenge is only for the most hardy of competitors as each team member must carry a Bergen/rucksack weighing 35lbs! These will be weighed by race officials prior to the start and at the finish. All members of the squad must also wear military style boots providing adequate ankle support*.
The Team Challenge is open to groups of four individuals from any military or non military organisations with the fastest three from each team scoring. The winning team will be awarded the Team Challenge Trophy and each member will receive a commemorative plaque.
*The Race Organisers decision on whether a boot provides suitable support will be final. Any team member whose foot wear is not considered suitable will be excluded from taking part in the team event although this will not prohibit them form taking part in the main race however without the Bergen. In the event of more than 1 team member being disqualify, the team will be disqualified from the Team Challenge competition.
Teams may compete over the 10 Mile distance either squaded or unsquaded.
Teams of three may enter, but all three must finish in order to score.
Teams must create an appropriate 30 character (max.) name.
Teams from the same organisation must carry different names.
Participation in a team in no way affects the entrants competing in the other entitlements of the event.
To help with planning and preparations all Team Challenge entries must be declared in advance although team membership can be changed provided the replacement team member is already entered in the overall event.
Water Stations and First Aid
Water is located at 4 and 8 miles and at the finish
First Aid will be located at the Race HQ in Mckay Gym with a roving back up en route.
Results
Results will be available soon after the event via www.sportsystems.net/results.
Race Timing
Race timing is provided by Sport Systems. Your number, which contains your timing chip should be securely fastened to the front of your running top with four pins. It should not be folded or cut. Once you have crossed the finish line your chip will be scanned again by a back up scanner. Once this has been done please clear the finish area and do not cross the finish line again especially if you are wearing a number.
Here is a list of all finishing competitors in the 2008 event (when available). For more results over the last 4 or 5 years produced by Sport systems please go to the Results Page.
