sportsystems.net is where amongst the many services Sport Systems provide we feature our customer’s forthcoming events. We post the results for the races that we time here too. So if you are looking for a race to enter or searching for the results of a race that you have recently run we hope that you find the information that you want.

Who are Sport Systems?

Not only do Sport Systems provide race management software in the form of RaceMaster (used by over 450 clubs and organisations to manage their event) but we also Chip Time road races across the UK, and occasionally beyond; host Online Stores and provide Race Entry Management. Shell Chester Half Marathon - Event sold out! Entries are now closed.

Sunday 18 May starting at 9:30am. Run in support of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd the Shell Chester Half Marathon is certain to hit its quota of 2,600 competitors well in advance of race day. They will enjoy a course that has a reputation for producing fast times with great support and organisation from their hosts at West Cheshire AC. Muscular Dystrophy Campaign Oxford Town & Gown 10K Fun Run

Sunday 18 May. Oxford is the destination for one of Sport Systems timing teams. The T&G will run for the fourth time on its unique course that takes runners through the centre of Oxford, passing Queen’s, University, Brasenose, Balliol, Trinity, Wadham, Keble, Mansfield and Manchester colleges. There is a young athletes’ race over a course of approximately 3k. This is also open to boys and girls aged between 11-14. Comprehensive race details can be found at www.oxfordtownandgown.org.

[Image] Staines 10K road race Logo

Staines 10K - Event sold out! Entries are now closed.

Sunday 18 May starting at 9:00am. Another Sport Systems timing team will be in Staines for this popular 10K. Organised by Runnymede Runners, Spelthorne Council and Staines Strollers this is the second year that Sport Systems will time the race and provide entry management. [Image] Woodley 10K road race

Woodley 10K

Sunday 18 May starting at 11:00am. Sport Systems are once again returning to time the Woodley 10K. This is a fairly flat suburban road course which has been certified by BAF/RRC. The day also includes a 3 Km junior challenge race (11-16 years). Race details can be found at www.woodley10k.co.uk.

[Image] Dorking 10 race and online entries

The Dorking 10

Sunday 1 June. The Dorking 10 is one of the premier road races in the south east of England, regularly attracting over 700 entrants. This year the race incorporates the Surrey 10 Mile Championships. You can enter by going via www.sportsystems.net/dorking/.

Monday 2 June. The Cork City Marathon is taking place for the second time in twenty-two years and Sport Systems will be there to provide timing and results. With aspirations to quickly become one of Ireland’s largest races its set to become a popular event with all marathon running tourists. Saturday 7 June starting at 10am. Set on the paths around Eton College’s Dorney Lake (also the rowing venue for the London Olympics) the Dash of the same name is a great course to bag a PB. [Image] Eltham Park 5mile, 3k and 1mile fun run road race

Eltham Park 5mile, 3k and 1mile fun run

Sunday 8 June. Try this 5-mile run in Eltham Park North or enter the 1 mile fun run if you’re just starting out. This year there’s a third event – a 3k aimed at attracting the talented youth in the area, as well as those adults who want more challenge than one mile, but aren’t yet ready for five. Stortford 10 logo

Stortford 10

Sunday 8 June starting at 10:00am. The Stortford 10 has changes – its got a new date and a new distance; 10K as opposed to 10 miles. Organised by Bishop's Stortford Running Club the new multi-terrain course in on a virtually traffic free country roads and hard surface farm tracks. Prizes for each of the Male and Female Race Winners, Trophies for category winners & T-shirt to all finishers.

Sunday 15 June starting at 10.00am. The first MHFS 10K for Men was held in June 2006, and we are now in the process of organising the third annual event for 15th June 2008. Bracknell Forest Five

Wednesday 18 June starting at 7:30pm. Give yourself a mid-week break and get away from the crowds by entering this beautiful off-road course. Run along forest tracks of grass and gravel through the scenic Windsor Forest. The course has been accurately measured, but you won’t record a PB here! Sunday 22 June starting at 9:30am. We all like to be beside the seaside and Sport Systems are no different. That’s why we’re pleased to be going to the English Riviera to time the Torbay Half Marathon. You will have to be quick to enter though as there is a race limit of 1,500 and in 2006 the race sold out a full month in advance. [Image] Prestwold Hall 10k road race

Prestwold Hall 10k

Sunday 29 June starting at 10:30am. See if you can beat your PB on this flat, single lap course, now in its second year. It’s been changed following feedback, so now you can take in some of the rural roads in the area as well as going round the disused airfield. You’ll be slower than the sports cars and bikes that normally use the track to burn some rubber, but don’t let that worry you - just enjoy the fun memento you get at the end! [Image] The Dysart Dash road race

The Dysart Dash

Sunday 29 June start time 9:00am. This is a fast summer 10k that gives you the opportunity of a PB on a flat two-lap course – part on roads and part on Thames Towpath. If you’re feeling speedy and meet the eligibility criteria, then you can go flat out for the Surrey 10k Championship which forms part of the race. Otherwise, just take it steady and enjoy the view of river, trees, Teddington Lock and Ham House. It starts early so you’ll have plenty of time for Sunday lunch afterwards! Sunday 13 July. Now in its 14th year Sport Systems are timing this multi-terrain 10K race around Tilgate Forest for the first time. It promises to be an enjoyable event in support of the hospice. Sunday 20 July starting at 9:30am. You won’t score a PB on this undulating course, but you’ll enjoy great scenery on the rural route. Wednesday 23 July at 7.30pm. If you’re feeling fit and have the right birth or residency qualifications, then winning this would make you Bedfordshire AAA 5k champion. Sunday 14 September starting at 9:30am. To celebrate their silver jubilee Chippenham Harries are holding their inaugural half marathon. The race will be run over a fast, accurately measured and predominantly flat course starting and finishing at our club base – Chippenham Sports Club. The route will go through the centre of Chippenham and then follow scenic country lanes visiting local villages and hamlets including Tytherton Lucas, Langley Burrell, Avon, East Tytherton. The PARAS’ 10 Endurance Run

In aid of Airborne Forces Charity and Help for Heroes

Sunday, 14th September 2008, start time 10:00am. Find out if you are tough enough to take on the challenging 10 mile route used by The Parachute Regiment for selecting new recruits.This uniquely tough run follows the same undulating multi terrain course used in Paratrooper selection. It can be run with or without a Bergen rucksack. There is also a special Team Challenge for teams of four carrying rucksacks Needless to say it will require you to prepare yourself with dedicated training well before the event. There is a 3 hour cut off for completing the route and regretfully is not suitable for wheelchair competitors. All runners must be over 17 on race day to participate. www.sportsystems.net/paras10.

Cabbage Patch 10

Cabbage Patch 10

Sunday 19 October staring at 10:00 am. The Cabbage Patch 10 mile race is one of the flattest and fastest 10 milers in the country. Richard Nerurkar set an all time British record here of 46 mins 2 secs in 1993. Starting and finishing in Twickenham the course follows a loop, crossing the River Thames at Kingston Bridge and Richmond Bridge. 23 November 2008. Following the first ever chip timed race in Ethiopia, Sport Systems are delighted to have been invited to time the Elite athletes in the Great Ethiopian Run. One hundred years ago Edward VII was on the throne, Asquith had just become Prime Minister and London life was returning to normality after the Olympic Games had run for a record six months. This was also the year in which Hastings put on a marathon with just fifty-one competitors. Sunday 15 March 2009 starting 10.30am. The Hastings Half Marathon is organised by the Hastings Lions Club to raise monies for needy causes and to promote historic Hastings. It is ideal preparation for the London Marathon, both in training and getting big event experience! With a 4,000 strong field that in 2006 included ten Williams but no Harolds runners are supported by three choirs, two bands and other live music en-route.
